Description

Moreau Lake State Park lies amid hardwood forests, pine stands and rocky ridges. Shady groves of trees shelter picnic grounds and a pavilion overlooking the lake. Wooded campgrounds are quiet and secluded, offering facilities for group campers, as well as tent and trailer sites. The sandy beach, nature, hiking and cross-country ski trails, opportunities for boating, fishing and ice fishing, and proximity to the Saratoga Spring and Lake George areas make the park attractive to visitors.

Geography:

Moreau Lake State Park is located ten miles north of Saratoga Springs in the Adirondack foothills.

Recreation:

The park's many activities include boating, fishing, hiking, swimming, sunbathing, bird watching, biking, hunting, visiting the Nature Center, and wintertime ice fishing, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing.

Facilities:

The park's amenities include a beach, boat launch sites, boat rentals, cabins, campsites, dumping stations, showers, 20+ trails for hiking and biking, picnic tables, and a playground. A wooden pavilion with a 120-person capacity and three canvas tents with space for 35-50 may be reserved. In the summer, beach lounges, beach umbrellas, and fishing gear can be rented. In the winter, snowshoes are available for rent daily. Located on the beach road, the award winning, Lake Shore Cottage provides everything from a refrigerator, stove, dishes and utensils to a screened porch, bathroom with shower, bedding, pillows and a cozy fireplace. The Campground Cottage is also available and offers many of the same amenities as the Lake Shore Cottage. (located near Loop F) The recently renovated Sunset Cabin is now available for the 2012 season. It's a little more rustic, but offers seclusion and lakefront accommodations!
