ALL (100) DescriptionSouthwick Beach State Park is spacious and popular, known for outstanding swimming and sunning on its long, sandy beach. Campers and day-users enjoy picnicking, hiking, and games on the playing fields. The park is adjacent to the Lakeview Wildlife Management Area, home to environmentally-sensitive coastal sand dunes. Nature trails, hiking trails, cross-country ski trails, and snowshoeing trails adjoin the wildlife management area and its trail system, which visitors are encouraged to use. During the winter, snowmobilers are permitted in the park. Deer hunting is allowed south of the park entrance in season.Geography:Southwick Beach State Park is located next to the Lakeview Wildlife Management Area on the Lake Ontario shore, off Route 3, southwest of Watertown. Recreation:Park visitors enjoy picnicking, hiking, playing field sports, walking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and deer hunting. Facilities:The park offers a variety of campsites, a beach, restrooms with showers, a dumping station, food concession, nature trails, hiking trails, picnic areas, reservable picnic areas with canopy tents, playgrounds, and playing fields. Each year the campground makes every effort to provide safe swimming opportunities by testing the water and by keeping the swimming areas staffed with lifeguards. Please be aware that if the safety of our swimmers is compromised, due to lack of lifeguard coverage or water quality issues, swimming will be prohibited and therefore cannot be a guaranteed activity. We apologize for this inconvenience as it may occur with little advance notice. To insure fairness for all NY customers, any reservation with departure dates outside the 9-month Maximum Window can not be changed or cancelled until 18 days after the reservation was made. **BEACHFRONT SITES 2 - 30** During PEAK season (end of June to the end the of August), the beachfront sites, 2 through 30, are Sat. to Sat. ONLY, 7 or 14 day stays ONLY. You cannot have more than 14 nights total for the beachfront site at Southwick Beach per name, per address or per phone number during PEAK Season.
Peak season: A person may be the primary site occupant for 14 total days of camping within a 16 day period. S/he must leave the park for 48 hours once they have stayed the maximum number of days allowed before beginning a new reservation. Getting There:GPS Info.
