Description

Robert Moses State Park is located partly on the mainland and partly on Barnhart Island. Visitors reach the park through a tunnel under the Eisenhower Lock. The park is spacious, home to a large variety of flora and fauna. The nature center also offers holiday, special events and school outreach programs. The park's nature, hiking and cross-country skiing trails wind through fields, forests and wetlands, with overlooks showcasing spectacular views. In winter, the park also welcomes snowmobilers

Geography:

Robert Moses State Park is located on the St. Lawrence River. This park is NOT located on Long Island.

Recreation:

The park offers a multitude of recreational opportunities, camping, a marina and boat launch, some of the best fishing in the Northeast, picnic areas, a swimming beach, tennis courts and a year round nature center. The nature center also offers holiday, special events and school outreach programs. The park's nature, hiking and cross-country skiing trails wind through fields, forests and wetlands, with overlooks showcasing spectacular views. In winter, the park also welcomes snowmobilers.

Facilities:

Most park facilities are accessible to disabled visitors. The park has a beach, trails, a marina, a picnic area with a playground, and nature center, and restrooms with showers. Boat launch and boat rentals are available.

Nearby Attractions:

Gas stations and major shopping centers are within five miles, as are a power dam and Eisenhower Lock. The Thousand Islands region is about an hour and a half away from the park.

Each year the campground makes every effort to provide safe swimming opportunities by testing the water and by keeping the swimming areas staffed with lifeguards. Please be aware that if the safety of our swimmers is compromised, due to lack of lifeguard coverage or water quality issues, swimming will be prohibited and therefore cannot be a guaranteed activity. We apologize for this inconvenience as it may occur with little advance notice.

To insure fairness for all NY customers, any reservation with departure dates outside the 9-month Maximum Window can not be changed or cancelled until 18 days after the reservation was made.

  • This park is NOT located on Long Island.
  • If your site allows for pets, only 2 per site are permitted. Current rabies certificate required. Pets must be on a leash no longer than 6ft at all times.
  • Pets NOT allowed on Barnhart Beach or in Cabins 1 - 7.
  • Cabin campers must supply all bed/bath linens and kitchen utensils.
  • Smoking is not permitted in the cabins.
  • Looking to reserve for just 1-night? If you make your reservation within 3 days of your arrival you can book a 1-night stay online or through the Call Center. This applies only to campsites.
  • Peak season: A person may be the primary site occupant for 14 total days of camping within a 16 day period. S/he must leave the park for 48 hours once they have stayed the maximum number of days allowed before beginning a new reservation.
