Tucked away in seclusion a short way off the main tourist route, this jewel of a campground remains one of the best kept secrets in the Adirondacks. The remote Adirondack setting of this facility offers a relaxing, quiet beauty all its own. The campsites offer privacy; they are large and well-forested.
Brown Tract Pond Campground is located on the east shore of 146-acre Brown Tract Pond. Development of this campground commenced in 1957 and was completed in 1958.
Visitors may rent or bring their own rowboats and canoes. Anglers will enjoy fishing for rare brook trout and more common smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, sunfish, yellow perch, brown bullhead, sucker common shiner, and golden shiner. The park offers nearby trails to Black Bear Mountain, Bug Lake, Eagle Lake, and Eighth Lake. Unmarked trails lead to Shallow Lake and West Mountain. Bicycling is also an option here.
The park has tent and trailer sites, a picnic area with tables and fireplaces, flush toilets, a trailer dump station, and a recycling center.
Nearby attractions include the Old Forge region, the Adirondack Museum, and the golf courses at Inlet and Indian Lake.
Reservations can be made for today and can be made up to 9 Month(s) in advance.
