Description
Eighth Lake Campground offers great fishing for lake trout, with special salmon ponds adjacent to the campground. The large, forested campsites offer peace and privacy. The campground offers a variety of recreational opportunities, including canoeing and boating, fishing, hiking, and bicycling.Geography:
Eighth Lake Campground is located between Seventh and Eighth Lake with campsites located near the shore lines of both.
Recreation:
Power boats, rowboats, and canoes are allowed. Boat and canoe rental available. The boat launch consists of a hard surface (trailer-launch capable) launching ramp with parking for 10 cars and is the only public access to the lake. Fishing for trout and smallmouth bass is popular, and state-maintained hiking trails are adjacent to the campground, with many other trails nearby. A picnic area is available, and a swimming area is at the south end of the lake.

The campground offers tent and trailer sites, picnic area with tables and fireplaces, flush toilets, hot showers, a trailer dump station, a recycling center, accessibility, a sand beach, a swimming area, canoe and boat rentals, and hiking trails.

Area attractions include the Old Forge region with amusements, restaurants, and golf courses, the Adirondack Museum at Blue Mountain Lake and golf courses at Inlet and Indian Lake.
