Description
Lake Erie State Park is located along the southern shores of Lake Erie in the heart of western New York's grape belt. Established in 1928, this 355 acre park offers breathtaking views from the high bluffs along the parks three-quarter mile long shoreline. Visitors can camp in one of the park's 99 campsites or 10 cabins and enjoy lovely treed picnic areas among the parks rolling hills. Lake Erie State Park has been selected as one of America's Top 100 Family Campgrounds and one of America's Top 10 Bird Watching Spots.Geography:
Lake Erie State Park is located on the Lake Erie shoreline in Chautauqua County, less than ten miles from Dunkirk to the east and Westfield to the west.
Recreation:
Visitors can enjoy picnicking, hiking, biking, and fishing. The park also offers playgrounds, volleyball courts, a baseball field, a basketball half-court, horseshoe pits and an 18-hole disc golf course.
Facilities:
The park features lake access, cabins, rustic and electric campsites, showers, picnic areas with grills, pavilions, a dump station and playgrounds.
Nearby Attractions:
Nearby state parks include Evangola, Midway and Long Point on Lake Chautauqua. Lake Erie State Park is located in the middle of the Chautauqua Wine Trail, not far from the world-renowned Chautauqua Institution.
Please Be Advised: Lake Erie State Park's campsite and cabin site reorganization and renumbering has been completed. The sites will become available for 2025 reservations on November 15, 2024 at 9AM.
Park Rules & Information:
Check-In/Check-Out is 3PM Check-In/11AM Check-Out.
Cabin patrons with a reservation must arrive prior to 9PM to check in and be issued their key.
If planning on towing a boat to campground, depending on ground and weather conditions, you may be required to park your boat in the gravel lot adjacent to the campsites. No exceptions to this rule will be permitted.
Receptacles for fish scraps are no longer available, please dispose of them off site.
Alcohol is permitted in campsite area only. Please use with discretion.
CABINS
Cabins have a maximum occupancy of 4 people.
Cabins require a 2-night minimum stay outside of peak season.
Peak Season runs from the end of June to the end of August. During this time cabins require a 7 or 14-night minimum stay.
Tents are not permitted in the cabin area.
CAMPSITES
Campsites are reservable for a 2 night minimum.
The campground offers 81 electric sites ranging from 15 to 50 amps. Check the site details for specific amperage.
Loop 085-097 is a non-electric loop.
ATTENTION PET OWNERS:
Current proof of rabies inoculation is required at check-in (metal tags will not be accepted).
At any time during your stay, pet owners may be required to provide proof of rabies inoculation upon request. Be sure to have this information available to present to park staff.
Where pets are permitted, there is a maximum limit of 2 pets per site.
Pets must be on a leash no longer than 6ft and under control at all times.
Do not leave pets unattended and always clean up after them.
Pet owners/permit holders are liable for any damage, personal injury, or nuisance caused by the pet.
SWIMMING: While swimming will be allowed at Lake Erie State Park, no lifeguards will be on-duty. For campers who prefer a supervised beach, contact the park office for nearby options.

PRE-REGISTRATION: Have an existing reservation? Don't forget to PRE-REGISTER!! Two days prior to arrival you can sign into Reserve America and pre-register. IT SAVES TIME.
LENGTH OF STAY: A camping party and their equipment may occupy a site for a maximum of 14 continuous nights. After which, the camping party and equipment must leave the site and facility for 48 hours before registering again for another site.
Please Note: To ensure fairness for all NY customers, any reservation with departure dates outside the 9-month Maximum Window cannot be changed or cancelled until 18 days after the reservation was made.
