DescriptionLake Erie State Park is located along the southern shores of Lake Erie in the heart of western New York's grape belt. Established in 1928, this 355 acre park offers breathtaking views from the high bluffs along the parks three-quarter mile long shoreline. Visitors can camp in one of the park's 99 campsites or 10 cabins and enjoy lovely treed picnic areas among the parks rolling hills. Lake Erie State Park has been selected as one of America's Top 100 Family Campgrounds and one of America's Top 10 Bird Watching Spots.Geography:Lake Erie State Park is located on the Lake Erie shoreline in Chautauqua County, less than ten miles from Dunkirk to the east and Westfield to the west. Recreation:Visitors can enjoy picnicking, hiking, biking, fishing and lounging on the beach. The park also offers playgrounds, volleyball courts, a baseball field, a basketball half-court and horseshoe pits. Facilities:The park features a beach, cabins, rustic and electric campsites, showers, picnic areas with grills, pavilions, a dump station and playgrounds. Nearby Attractions:Nearby state parks include Evangola, Midway and Long Point on Lake Chautauqua. Lake Erie State Park is located in the middle of the Chautauqua Wine Trail, not far from the world-renowned Chautauqua Institution. Services & Amenities:
Alerts and Important Information There are no swimming facilities at Lake Erie State Park. Swimming can be found at Point Gratiot Beach in Dunkirk, NY (8 miles from the park) with no charge.
From Labor Day to July 1st Cabin/Campsite renters without reservations must arrive prior to 9 p.m. DID YOU KNOW you save 15-20% by reserving a weeknight* campsite? (*Sunday-Thursday, excluding holidays) To insure fairness for all NY customers, any reservation with departure dates outside the 9-month Maximum Window can not be changed or cancelled until 18 days after the reservation was made

Peak season: A person may be the primary site occupant for 14 total days of camping within a 16 day period. S/he must leave the park for 48 hours once they have stayed the maximum number of days allowed before beginning a new reservation. Getting There:GPS Info.
