TIOGA POINT CAMPGROUND, DEC, NYStatus: Closed through Thu May 20 2010 Max reservation window: Sat Aug 21 2010 DescriptionTioga Point Campground is a unique, boat-access-only campground. From the campground, visitors have wonderful views of Raquette Lake and the surrounding mountains. Easy access to shore and to nearby attractions make this an unforgettable camping location.Geography:Tioga Point Campground is located on Raquette Lake, in the Adirondacks. Recreation:Motor boats, rowboats, and canoes are allowed. The fish present in Raquette Lake include brook trout, white fish, smelt, smallmouth bass, sunfish, yellow perch, brown bullhead, sucker, and minnow. Facilities:Tioga Point is a primitive campground with no potable water. It is accessible by boat only. There are picnic tables and fireplaces. Nearby Attractions:The Adirondack Park Visitors Interpretive Center at Newcomb is 30 miles east, on Route 28. The Adirondack Museum at Blue Mountain Lake is located 8 miles east, on Route 28, and features the history of the Adirondack Park. The village of Raquette Lake is 3 miles west on Route 28, and offers restaurants, boat rentals, and scenic excursions on Raquette Lake, with dining on board. Golf courses are available in the villages of Indian Lake and Inlet. Services & Amenities:

WHEN YOU ARRIVE-You must sign for your own site. Have your equipment with you and be ready to camp when you register. The names of all campers staying on a site must be listed on the camping permit when you first register at the facility CHECK-IN TIME-Is from 12:00 noon until 9:00 p.m. Campers must register for their campsite by 9:00 p.m. on the first night of their reservation or the campsite will be subject to re-rental and all fees will be forfeited CHECK-OUT TIME-Is 11:00 a.m. on your departure date OCCUPANCY-Is limited to 6 individuals per campsite and 2 tents or 1 unit of hard wheeled camping equipment and 1 tent. Only 2 vehicles are permitted on any campsite. Extra vehicles will be required to park in a designated area (additional fees will apply) AGE REGULATIONS-Every campsite must be registered and occupied by a responsible person 18 years of age or older LENGTH OF STAY-Your camping permit can be issued for a maximum of 2 weeks. From July 1 through Labor Day, only 14 cumulative nights of camping will be permitted at any campground. QUIET HOURS-Are from 10 p.m. until 7 a.m., and are strictly enforced. Violators of this policy may be evicted GENERATORS-The use of electric generators may be limited to no more than 5 hours per day and fall between the hours of 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily FIRES-Must be built in fireplaces provided. Only dead and down wood may be used for fuel. No chainsaws are allowed in campgrounds, and cutting down trees, alive or dead is prohibited. FIREARMS-Are not allowed in campgrounds except during the Fall and Spring hunting seasons. Firearms must not be discharged within campground boundaries at any time ACCESSIBLE SITES-At least one member of the camping party staying on the site must be mobility impaired (i.e. in a wheelchair or uses a walker) or the camping party may be turned away at the campground SWIMMING-Is allowed at campgrounds with supervised bathing areas during designated hours when a lifeguard is on duty. Please note that there may be times when lifeguards are unavailable, and for the safety of our customers these beaches will not be open and swimming will be prohibited. Not all campground locations offer swimming, to inquire please contact the campground directly PETS-Are allowed with proof of a currently valid rabies vaccination. Campers can walk dogs on a leash no longer than six feet as long as the animal is under control. Dogs cannot be left unattended and are not allowed in facility structures, on the beach or in day use areas CANCELLATIONS-To cancel more than 2 days prior to your arrival date cancel online or by calling 1-800-456-2267. To cancel a reservation within 2 days of your arrival contact the campground directly REFUNDS - Will not be issued except in cases of bona fide emergencies. Supporting documentation will be required. (Latitude, Longitude): 43.84417, -74.63389 From the New York State Thruway (I-90): Take Exit 31 at Utica; go north on Rte 12 to Alder Creek; take Rte 28 through Old Forge and Inlet. Golden Beach campground is about 4 miles east of Raquette Lake Village, on the left side of Rte 28. Tioga Point is reached by traveling another 4 miles west to Raquette Lake Village. There is a boat launch in the center of the village. From the Adirondack Northway (I-87): Take Exit 23 at Warrensburg; follow Route 9 North to Route 28 West through Indian Lake and Blue Mountain Lake. Golden Beach is about 8 miles west, on the right side of Rte. 28. Tioga Point is reached by traveling another 4 miles west to Raquette Lake Village.
