Jacques Cartier State Park's biggest draw for visitors are its unlimited boating opportunities and excellent fishing. The park's sheltered bay protects its sandy swimming beach and campers' dock. Large, open lawns encourage games and picnics; a playground and another, forested picnic ground are nearby.

Jacques Cartier State Park is located just west of Morristown, on the St. Lawrence River.

Boating, fishing, waterskiing, snorkeling, biking, hiking, hunting, basketball, camping, and picnicking are the main activities at the park. In winter, cross-country skiing is permitted on park trails.

The park has a beach (with lifeguards in July and August), boat launch sites, boat rentals, dockage, campsites with showers and dumping stations, a nature trail, a picnic area, food concessions, pavilions, and a playground. Campsites are spacious, with panoramic views of the St. Lawrence River or sheltered forest. Park rangers are always on duty.

Alerts and Important Information
Each year the campground makes every effort to provide safe swimming opportunities by testing the water and by keeping the swimming areas staffed with lifeguards. Please be aware that if the safety of our swimmers is compromised, due to lack of lifeguard coverage or water quality issues, swimming will be prohibited and therefore cannot be a guaranteed activity. We apologize for this inconvenience as it may occur with little advance notice.
