Verona Beach State Park, located on the eastern shore of Oneida Lake, is a picnicker's and camper's delight. Shaded picnic areas and the campground are adjacent to the beach, with an excellent view of the water. The lake, Black Creek, cattail marshes, and bottomland hardwood swamps give Verona Beach one of the most diverse aquatic habitats in the Central Region, and well worth a hike on the "Woods and Wetland" nature trail. The winter season hosts snowmobilers, cross-country skiers, and ice fishermen. The eastern portion of the park is open for hunting deer, small game, and waterfowl, in season.

Verona Beach State Park is located on the east shore of Oneida Lake in Oneida County, northwest of the City of Oneida and south of Sylvan Beach. Oneida Creek enters the lake south of the park.

Visitors enjoy beach swimming, biking, horseback riding, hiking hunting, fishing (and ice fishing), snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing.

The park features a beach, bridle path, campsites, showers, dumping stations, food concessions, a nature trail, pavilions, and picnic tables. Firewood is sold at the park.

Alerts and Important Information
**UPDATE: Swimming MAY be closed for the weekend of July 11, 2014 to July 13, 2014. Please contact the park for the most up-to-date information.**

As part of a park improvement project, the bathhouse and attached parking lot will be under construction. The bathhouse will be closed and parking will be limited. The beach will be open in small sections for weekends only starting with Memorial Day weekend. Beginning June 21st, the beach will then be open daily for the season.

We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. During this time, Delta Lake and Green Lakes State Park swimming areas may be utilized during the week. Just show your valid camping permit for free entrance.

Each year the campground makes every effort to provide safe swimming opportunities by testing the water and by keeping the swimming areas staffed with lifeguards. Please be aware that if the safety of our swimmers is compromised, due to lack of lifeguard coverage or water quality issues, swimming will be prohibited and therefore cannot be a guaranteed activity. We apologize for this inconvenience as it may occur with little advance notice.

To insure fairness for all NY customers, any reservation with departure dates outside the 9-month Maximum Window can not be changed or cancelled until 18 days after the reservation was made.

  • Only 2 pets per site are permitted. Current rabies certificate required. Pets must be on a leash no longer than 6ft at all times.
  • Swimming is restricted to when life guards are on duty. There is no swimming allowed outside the guarded beach area. Normal beach hours are 11:00 am to 7:00 pm.
  • When biking, children under 14 must wear a helmet.

Peak season: A person may be the primary site occupant for 14 total days of camping within a 16 day period. S/he must leave the park for 48 hours once they have stayed the maximum number of days allowed before beginning a new reservation.
